Vivah Panchami is one of the most blessed days in Hinduism, given huge cultural and spiritual importance. This day is mainly to celebrate the divine marriage ceremony of Lord Ram with his consort Goddess Sita. In 2024, Vivah Panchami will fall on December 6, the fifth day of Shukla Paksha according to the waxing phase of the moon of Margashirsha month. On Vivah Panchami day, various rituals are followed other than just paying respect to the holy union between Lord Ram and Goddess Sita through activities such as worshiping of a banana tree. It’s fun knowing why this peculiar tradition assumes so prestigious a place on Vivah Panchami.
